AidPod

Fusion 360, ProCreate, Illustrator, 3D Printing

A replacement for portable medkits, the AidPod is a series of modular containers that are intended to be carried around on a daily basis. Each module of AidPod is meant to be portable, and only contain the necessary amount of medical items for a normal daily excursion. Designed to be easy to use, each pod has a singular function, whether it be for hand sanitizer, bandaids, etc.

Process

For this project we were asked to design a project that promoted safety. When I think of safety products, I immediately think of medical items like band-aids, hand sanitizer, and antiseptic
wipes. Making these items accessible and easy to use ensures our health and safety. Products like medkits, sanitizer dispensers, and pill holders help make these essentials more convenient.

After researching online, I found many portable medkits, but none are both multi-purpose and highly portable. Most include essentials like band-aids and antiseptic wipes, along with less frequently used items like gauze, tweezers, scissors, and cotton balls. So for my ideation, I decided to explore the idea of possibly making a medkit that contained only items that you would want in your medkit, and remove all the unnecessary elements that you wouldn’t use on a day-to-day basis.
